Between notifications, buttons, and price ranges, a trade card can feel like there is a lot to track. Nothing on it happens without you, and each part is explained below.
1. Are Trades and Stop-Loss Updates Placed Automatically, or Do I Need to Take Action?
No trade is placed in your broker account automatically. Every buy, sell, and stop-loss update needs your action. Nothing executes without you actively accepting it.
How a Recommendation Reaches You:
- A trade card in the app or web, under Recommendations.
- A notification on the app, on WhatsApp, and by email.
What You Need to Do:
- Make sure your broker is connected.
- Review the trade card and the Stop Loss shown with it.
- Accept the trigger by placing the order yourself, using Trade Now in the app or web, or manually in your broker if you prefer.

2. What Do I See on Every Trade Card?
- Stock name and exchange, for example SAREGAMA-EQ NSE.
- A Ready to Trade tag, shown when your broker is connected. This is only about your broker connection, it has nothing to do with whether the price is in range (question 6 below).
- The current price and order type, for example ₹519.1 DELIVERY.
- A Rationale. Tap View More to read it in full.
- Quantity, and the date and time the call was published.
- Trade Now and Add to Cart buttons.

3. What Is Different on a Buy Card?
- A BUY tag in the top right.
- The Advised Range, the price band for entry.
- Profit Target and Stop Loss for the call.
- If the live price moves outside the Advised Range, Buy and Add to Cart get disabled, covered in question 6 below.
4. What Is Different on a Sell or Exit Card?
- EXIT and SELL tags in the top right, shown when an existing recommendation needs to be closed.
- The Rationale explains why, for example "Our stop loss in SAREGAMA has been triggered."
- Advised Range shows a dash. Sell and Exit cards do not carry a fresh entry range.
5. How Does Stop Loss Work on a Trade Card?
- The Stop Loss is shared with you at the time of the original call, and shown right on the trade card itself.
- You always receive a separate Stop Loss trigger to accept, whether it is the original Stop Loss or a revised one.
- If the Stop Loss is trailed or revised later, that update is also sent to you as its own trigger, nothing changes without your knowledge.
- Everything is communicated to you: the original Stop Loss and any revision.
6. Why Does My Trade Card Say "Price Is Out of Advised Range"?
If you are seeing Buy or Add to Cart greyed out, your account and the call itself are both fine. The app is simply protecting you from placing an order at a price we have not reviewed.
- When the market price sits inside the Advised Range, the BUY button, Trade Now, and Add to Cart are all active, and the Advised Range is shown, for example ₹617.5 to ₹619.5. This is the state you want, it means you can place the trade at, or very close to, the price we recommended.

- Prices move fast. If a stock runs past the top of the range, or drops below it, before you place the order, the card changes to show you: a red message reading "Price is out of advised range" appears, the BUY button turns grey and cannot be used, and Add to Cart also turns grey and gets disabled.

- The Advised Range stays exactly the same in this state. Any Stop Loss update still only ever arrives as a separate trigger, neither one changes just because the live price moved outside the range.
- Trade Now still works even when the price is outside the range, it places a manual order at your own discretion. Buy and Add to Cart are the two that get disabled.
7. Where Can I See My Order Status After I Place a Trade?
- Once you confirm a trade, a confirmation shows the order status.
- On the Markup App:
On the Markup Webpage:
- Placed On shows the date the order was submitted.
- Status shows Placed, with a progress bar for how many orders in the batch are executed.
- The table lists the stock, order side (Buy or Sell), quantity, order type (Market or Limit), placement status, and execution status.
A Few Things to Keep in Mind
- You can also place the order directly in your broker's app instead of using Trade Now, if you prefer.
- Without a connected broker, you can view recommendations but cannot place trades from the app.
- Advised Range is fixed when the call is published and does not change afterward. Stop Loss may be trailed or revised later if the price reaches a certain level, but you always receive that update as its own separate trigger, it never changes silently on the existing card.
- The price can move back into range later in the session.
- Tap View More to read the Rationale for the call.
