It is natural to worry about missing an important trade alert. To reduce that risk, every trigger is sent to you across three channels at once, WhatsApp, App notifications, and email, so you do not have to rely on just one.
On WhatsApp
When a trigger is sent, you receive an Advice Received message with the stock symbol, action, stop loss, and target already filled in. Select Act on advice to open and execute it.
On Email
The same trigger arrives as an email with the full recommendation laid out in a table, covering the symbol, order type, limit price, exchange, product type, segment, date, recommended range, stop loss, profit target, and the rationale behind the pick. Select Login to Dashboard to act on it.
On Your Phone - Mobile App
The same alert also appears as a notification on your phone lock screen and notification shade, the same way any other app notification does.
A Note on WhatsApp Delivery
WhatsApp does not guarantee delivery of every message, and delivery rates for automated messages like trade alerts typically run around 70%. This means a WhatsApp alert may occasionally not reach you, even when everything has gone through correctly on our end.
If a WhatsApp alert does not arrive, this does not mean the trigger failed. The same alert is always sent to the app and by email as well, so these two channels remain reliable ways to check for a trigger.
If You Are Not Receiving Notifications on Your Phone
If notifications are not showing up, this is usually caused by your phone's battery saver silently restricting the app in the background, not by anything wrong with your Markup account. This is especially common on Android, and on OnePlus phones in particular. Two checks fix this in most cases.
Allow the app to run in the background:
- OnePlus: Settings -> Battery -> Battery optimization -> find the app, and set it to "Do not optimize." Also go to Settings -> Apps -> the app -> Battery, and make sure "Allow background activity" is on.
- Samsung: Settings -> Apps -> the app -> Battery, and set it to "Unrestricted."
- Xiaomi or Redmi: Security app -> Battery -> App battery saver -> find the app, set it to "No restrictions," and enable Autostart for it.
- Oppo or Realme: Settings -> Battery -> App Battery Management -> find the app, and allow background activity.
- Vivo: i Manager -> App Manager -> Autostart Manager -> enable it for the app.
Check the Trade Alerts notification channel:
Settings -> Apps -> the app -> Notifications, and make sure "Trade Alerts" is switched on specifically, not just the main notification toggle. Android treats these as separate channels, so the main toggle being on does not guarantee this specific channel is also on.
